Weizman asserts importance of resuming peace process
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 6/30/1999

Israeli President Ezer Weizman said that courageous leaders are the only ones who can lead the peace process, such as the late Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat when he signed peace agreement with Israel.

Voice of Israel quoted Weizman as saying that the head of the Palestinian Authority, Yasser Arafat is considered the strongest Palestinian leader, who was able to achieve more for his people than any other Palestinian chief till now.

Weizman asserted the importance of resuming the negotiation process with the Palestinians as soon as possible because the Palestinian track is the most complicated, adding that the Israelis and Palestinians must abandon their strict stances toward resuming the peace process.
