Algeria, Politics, 6/29/1999
Algerian Prime Minister Smail Hamdani said that the draft of civil reconciliation law mentioned by President Bouteflika on last Saturday will be applied according to the request made by its beneficiaries.
He added, "The draft law will be raised at the Algerian parliament tomorrow after being adopted today by the Cabinet."
Hamdani said, "The law would determine the pardoning circumstances of the armed Islamists who put away their weapons and did not participate in murders."
Hamadani said that those who want to benefit from this law must declare "loyalty to the state within six months starting from the law's issuance referring that the murderers will be sooner or later tried."
