Two French travelers awed by the monuments in Palmyra
Syria, Politics, 6/28/1999
French tourists, Gankoul Jeira and Okana Leilian, who are touring the Mediterranean on their motorbikes, have asserted that the archaeological tourism sites in Syria are unique and that they have never seen anything similar to them in the world, besides the charming Syrian landscape which has together plains, the mountain, the sea, the oases and the desert.
In statements to SANA's correspondents in Palmyra the two French tourists expressed their happiness over visiting Syria. They said their tour takes seven months, during which they have already visited Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria and their way back will be Lebanon, Jordan, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco.
They added that the city of Palmyra is worthy to be visited with its "miracle-like monuments." They said they will authorize an illustrated book as a tourism directory covering this tour.
