Palestinian Authority officially invited to attend Geneva conference
Palestine-International, Politics, 6/26/1999

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) received an official invitation from the Swiss authorities to attend the Geneva conference, scheduled for next July 15, PNA Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nabil Shaath said on Saturday.

In a statement to the Palestinian radio, Shaath said the conference will discuss the implementation of the fourth Geneva Convention concerning the protection of civilians during times of war, in the occupied Arab land.

Israel refuses to implement the convention.

Shaath stressed that the Palestinian delegation would raise during the conference the issue of the growing Israeli settlement activities.
