22 Arab unions discuss in Cairo the future of Arab economy
Regional, Economics, 6/25/1999

Cairo is to witness the biggest economic assembly for discussing the influence of the agreement of the World Trade Organization on economics in the Arab states in October before the start of a round of negotiations among the Arab states and the WTO by the beginning of the year 2000.

A preparatory committee for the conference was chosen with the chairmanship of Hassan Ibrahim, the secretary general of the council for Arab economic unity.

Engineer Hisham Hadad, the secretary general of the Arab union for fairs and international conferences, said "The conference, in whose discussion 22 Arab unions are participating, aims at informing Arab men of business and industry as well as investors so that a unified strategic plan for the Arab area can be made during negotiations of the next stage in the agreements of the WTO."
