Algerian president wishes Moroccan premier prompt recovery
Algeria-Morocco, Politics, 6/24/1999
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria has sent a message to Moroccan Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi wishing him prompt recovery following the surgery operation he underwent last Sunday, reported the Algerian news agency APS.
The Algerian president said he was worried about Youssoufi's illness and expressed "sincere wish" that this illness will be a momentary indisposition. He hailed on the occasion "the ties of friendship and brotherhood that have bound me for years to your honorable person and the shared ideas and goals binding us for the good of our two countries and for the happiness of our two brotherly peoples."
"I wish that you will resume very quickly your activities to serve your brotherly country and carry on your efforts for the construction of our Arab Maghreb," President Bouteflika said.
Youssoufi was admitted to hospital last Sunday and underwent a local surgical operation to the head.
The Prime Minister's state of health is satisfactory and arouses no cause for concern, Youssoufi's physicians said after the operation.
The prime minister received messages and telephone calls from several personalities, including Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Bin Ali, and the prime ministers of Algeria, France and Spain.
