Dubai gold imports total 199 tons

Dubai's gold imports during the last five months of the current year reached 199 tons, including 25.5 tons during April and March, 22.5 in February and 33.1 in January.

This came in a report issued by the harbors and customs department in Dubai, which added that Dubai is considered a trade and reexporting gold market.

The report said that Dubai enjoys this position due to many elements which include government support and low taxes as well as the safety which Dubai enjoys, which contributes to enhancing Dubai's international reputation and the facilities presented to importers like granting tax exemptions, as well as the geographical location and Dubai's dealing with the open market policy that made Dubai an important trade center for gold markets.
