Prince Sultan air base opened in al-Kharaj
Saudi Arabia, Military, 6/24/1999

Under the patronage of the Saudi defence minister and second deputy premier, Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, on Tuesday Prince Sultan air base in al-Kharaj province (70 km to the north of Riyadh) were opened.

The officials at the base gave explanations of housing projects. The commander of the Saudi air force presented Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz with the first copy of the book (the history Saudi royal air-force 1348-1420 Hijra).

The Saudi defense minister honored several "Saudi air force veterans and the air force officers who are among the founders of the Saudi air forces."

Then the defense minister inaugurated the project of Al-Fahd planes in joining the Saudi royal air forces. Worth mentioning that prince Sultan air base was established to support the air forces, to establish training and maintenance departments to help in the telecommunications and leadership systems.
