Rabat expects very near opening of relations with Algeria

The Moroccan minister of the Interior Driss Basri on Wednesday expected that land borders to be reopened between Morocco and Algeria very soon. Borders between the two states are closed since 1994.
In a statement to the French International Radio, the Moroccan minister said that "Morocco and Algeria decided to convene a meeting on a level of a committee within the few coming days in order to re- start the movement of persons between the two sides I adding that the decision to reopen the border will be taken later.
The Moroccan minister met with the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika in the first meeting of its kind on this level since 1994.
