El-Baz: Mubarak and Clinton to focus on the peace process
Egypt-USA, Politics, 6/23/1999

Osama El-Baz, the political advisor of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stated that the U.S.A is a responsible partner in the peace process and that the anticipated discussions between Mubarak and U.S. President Bill Clinton will tackle the peace process and the importance of pushing it forward.

In a special statements to the Egyptian newspaper El-Ahram today, El-Baz said, "In light of the political line of the new Israeli government that will be formed in 10 days, we will have a joint stance with the U.S.A and the Palestinian, Syrian and Lebanese concerned parties with peace."

He added that discussions between Mubarak and Clinton will also tackle the Egyptian and US positions toward Iraq, saying that Egypt's perception of this matter focuses on not interfering in Iraq's internal affairs, while encouraging it to commit to United Nations resolutions and to implement its commitments.
