Tunisia and Mauritania sign program on technical and scientific cooperation in fishing

Tunisia and Mauritania signed on Monday a program on technical and scientific cooperation in the fishing sector for 1999-2001.
The program covers scientific research, apprenticeship and training, partnership and technical cooperation.
It provides for the creation of joint companies for the processing, industrialization and exportation of sea food, the organization of development and partnership campaigns in the field of fishing in Mauritania, the participation of Mauritanian businessmen in the international fishing show in Tunis and the exchange of experts between the two countries.
The program was signed by Tunisian Agriculture Minister Sadok Rabah and Mauritanian Minister of Fishing and Maritime Economy Mohamed Mokhtar Ould Zamel.
Both sides also signed an agreement organizing the Tunisian-Mauritanian joint technical commission in the sector of fishing. It will be a permanent structure gathering representatives of the private sector in the two countries and delegates of the authorities.
