UAE to take part in Kosovo peacekeeping force

The United Arab Emirates has announced that it will provide some 1,450 soldiers for the peacekeeping forces led by the NATO in July in Kosovo.
The UAE news agency quoted UAE chief of staff Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed al-Nahyan as saying on Monday said that a UAE force of 1,200 soldiers, currently supervised by French troops, will be redeployed in Kosovo. He added that another group of 250 soldiers backed by Apache helicopters will be redeployed in the sector which is supervised by the US in the Serbian districts.
The UAE had given aid to the refugees from Kosovo in Albania. It took part with several helicopters in the relief efforts as well as developing an airport and offering US $3 million to erect a camp to give shelter to some 10,000 refugees in Kukes town in the northern part of Albania.
