Mubarak, Bahraini ruler agree on Iraq's participation in an Arab summit
Egypt-Bahrain, Politics, 6/22/1999

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Bahraini Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Issa convened a concluding session today in Cairo, during which they tackled the situation in the Arab states and in the Middle East and current communications for convening a comprehensive Arab summit.

Arab diplomatic sources told ArabicNews.com that Mubarak and Sheikh Hamad bin Issa agreed on the importance of convening an Arab summit in which Iraq participates and that it is time to work on lifting the sanctions from Iraq and not to wait for it to be lifted from the outside.

Sources added that Yemen, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Mauritania and Tunis expressed their support for convening the summit anywhere and that the circumstances are more proper now than at any other time to convene the summit.
