Israel ignores court's decision to evacuate its commercial office in Doha
Qatar-Israel, Politics, 6/22/1999

The head of the Israeli commercial representation bureau in Doha stated yesterday that the bureau does not intend to evacuate the building it occupies, despite the issuing of a judicial decision regarding this matter.

Sami Rafel, head of the office, said, "We do not intend to move the office under threats of the use of force, and we respect the judicial system and the court decision but the case is between two Qatari persons," saying they are involving the Israeli party indirectly. This is a reference to where the owner of the building housing the Israeli office asked for the office to be removed because it was subleased by a third party without the owners' knowledge.

The Qatari cassation court granted the office one week to evacuate the building. The Israeli representative has so far ignored the repeated ruling of the court.
