Iran and the spying networking
Iran, Politics, 6/22/1999
Iran has reiterated that the arrest of a spy network of 13 Iranian Jews under charges of spying for Israel has nothing to do with religion. In a statement he made in Tehran on Monday, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Hamid Rida Asifi, said the concern showed by certain countries, usually encouraged by certain international circles, is groundless.
He stressed that all the suspended persons are Iranians and that trying them under charges of spying which targets the Iranian national security is an internal issue and a natural right for any country. The spokesman considered any position taken in this regard by other sides as an intervention in the internal affairs of Iran.
