Iraqi minister of trade visits Doha
Qatar-Iraq, Economics, 6/21/1999

Iraqi Minister of Trade Mohammed Mahdi Saleh is to arrive tomorrow in Doha, coming from Seirra Leone, for a one-day visit, the first for an Iraqi official to Doha.

The Iraqi ambassador in Doha, Kakhri Hamoud, said the Iraqi minister will meet with officials in the Qatari ministries of finance, economy and industry as well as in the Qatari trade chamber to discuss means of boosting economic relations, especially in exporting goods to Iraq.

Doha stated that it welcomes the visit at a time when Kuwait refuses to open any discussion with Iraq.

Iraqi sources added, "Qatar sees it is time to stop the imposed Arab isolation on Iraq and that Iraq should participate in the coming Arab summit."
