Saddam Hussein: Iraq will not be fragmented

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said that Iraq is one entity that cannot be fragmented, that its people are able to frustrate the schemes of foreign forces to fragment it, and that Iraqis do not accept being on the American level because Iraqis are more high-minded than Americans and the Iraqi conscience is alive in seeing the human meanings more than the American conscience.

Hussein spoke before a group from the ruling Baath Party and military officers.

He said, "The Iraqis are not in an anxious condition to confront the U.S.A. at the present time," adding that Iraq does not build technical mastery but builds faith.
