Syrian information minister receives UNDP envoy, chief of French radio

Syrian Information Minister Muhammad Salman on Sunday received actress Safeya al-Omari, the UNDP goodwill ambassador in Egypt. Talks dealt with the importance of the regional media symposium currently being held in Damascus.

The Egyptian actress expressed her happiness over visiting Syria and becoming acquainted with its progress as well as the role played by the media in Syria in highlighting issues of health and housing.

Earlier in the day, the minister conferred with the director of France International Radio and the Monte Carlo radio, Jean Paules Clausele. Talks dealt with the long-standing media cooperation between the two countries, especially between France International Radio and the General Commission of Radio and TV in Syria, and practical steps taken to implement such cooperation.
