Kharazi meets with Hizbullah leadership in Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi met yesterday with the leadership of the Hizbullah Party to discuss the situation in south Lebanon, the Iranian official news agency reported.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that Kharazi, during his meeting with Hizbullah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah praised the achievements of the Lebanese resistance, calling for Lebanese unity in resisting the Israeli occupation forces.

Nasrallah briefed Kharazi on regional developments and the recent withdrawal of the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia from the Lebanese city of Jezzine, IRNA said, adding that Nasrallah expressed appreciation for Iran's support for the Lebanese resistance and said that the resistance's achievements have been reached in light of the unity of the Lebanese people and support of Lebanon's government.

Kharazi is to arrive today in Amman, Jordan for a visit during which he is to convey a message from Iranian President Muhammad Khatami to King Abdullah of Jordan.
