Judgement handed down against Islamic Group members

The Egyptian Supreme Court issued yesterday its judgments in the issue of reviving the regulation of Islamic Group known as El-Motanzah.
The court handed down life with hard labor sentences to four suspects, 15 years hard labor on seven suspects, hard labor for 10 years on three suspects, hard labor for five years on one suspect, five years imprisonment on one accused and only one accused was proclaimed innocent.
Moreover, the court decided to confiscate all the arms and belongings of the suspects.
The court began its session in late May to try the 21 suspects, indicting them on charges of joining a group that contradicts the constitution and law to undertake terrorist actions aimed at toppling the government, contradicting legitimacy, shaking security and stability, and monitoring important security personalities so they could be assassinated.
