Some Iranians continue to show insensitivity towards Egypt
Egypt-Iran, Politics, 6/18/1999

The clouds of a new crisis began to appear relations between Egypt and Iran, which had recently witnessed an improvement after the agreement of the Iranian authorities to remove the name of Khaled El-Islambouli, the killer of late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, from one of the main raids in Tehran.

Iranian extremists directed a new insult to Egypt by setting up a large photo of Sadat's killer to be displayed on the street that has his name.

Press reports released by Tehran described this step as a challenge to Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri, the Irani parliament's head who announced recently his agreement to discuss the change of the street's name to help improve relations with Egypt. The Iranian extremists described this approval as treason to the revolution and Islam.

It is expected that El-Islambouli's photo will be uncovered after Friday's prayer.
