Attempted Mauritanian - Israeli normalization in health field failed

Following the attack and expulsion of Israeli doctors in the Mauritanian national hospital two months ago, the hospital, owned by the Mauritanian government, was obliged to cancel the visit of an Israeli medical commission, that was to be take place today due to fears for the safety of the Israelis, the Mauritanian newspaper El-Wedhdowri said.
The newspaper said the management of the hospital was obliged to stop the hosting of Israeli doctors after news of the visit leaked outside the hospital, sparking protests over dealing with Israel. The Mauritanian people oppose the current attempts at normalization between their government and Israel.
