Morocco, France discuss cooperation in housing matters

Morocco and France discussed earlier this week in Paris means of upgrading their cooperation in matters of low-cost housing and struggle against unhealthy housing.
The talks, conducted on the Moroccan side by secretary of state for housing, Mohamed Mbarki, also covered the exchange of experience in taxes levied on rented real estate, as well as cooperation with the French development agency and other French donors to finance the construction of low-cost lodgings and struggle against unhealthy housing.
The two sides decided to organize meetings between the two countries' professionals, operators in the construction industry and small and medium-sized enterprises.
The French-sponsored congress on "housing and francophony" to be held in the Moroccan northern city of Tangier next November was also discussed.
Mbarki who wound up his visit to France Thursday had dedicated an exhibition on Moroccan modern architecture held in Paris June 14 through August 31, part of Le Temps du Maroc en France" and moderated round tables on "quality in low-cost lodgings" and "architecture and globalization."
