Iranian foreign minister visits Lebanon today

Iranian Foreign minister Kamal Kharazi is arriving today for an official visit to Lebanon, during which he will convey a message from Iranian President Mohammed Khatami to Lebanese President Emile Lahoud.

A Lebanese official source said, "The Iranian foreign minister will discuss during his visit the regional causes and signing many bilateral agreements between the two countries."

The sources added, "The Iranian official will meet with some of the leadership in Hizbullah, with whom he will discuss their activities after the withdrawal of the pro-Israeli Lebanese militia from Jezzine."

The source added, "The Iranian foreign minister will meet during the visit with Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Salim al-Hoss, with whom he will discuss the peace process developments, the Iranian support for the Lebanese position in the peace process and preparing for the visit of Iranian President Mohammed Khatami to Beirut soon."
