Committees set up to ensure $100 million in Moroccan-Egyptian trade

Egypt decided to set up committees to follow up and supervise the implementation of the nine accords concluded over the weekend in Rabat during the third session of the Moroccan-Egyptian high joint commission.
The commission session that was co-chaired by King Hassan II and President Husni Mubarak was crowned by the conclusion of nine accords dealing mainly with commerce, merchant navy, air transport, fisheries, industry, agriculture and struggle against criminality.
A joint follow-up commission, co-chaired by the two states' trade ministers, will equally be set up to see to the implementation of the concluded accords.
The agreements, concluded during the commission's third session,and the accord setting up a free trade area between the two countries that entered into force last April, are likely to increase the volume of bilateral trade exchanges from $ 15 million to 55 million by the end of 1999 and 100 million in 2000.
