Iranian energy minister holds talks in Damascus
Syria-Iran, Politics, 6/16/1999

Syrian Vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam on Tuesday received Iranian Minister of Energy Habib Allah Betraf and members of the accompanying delegation. The two sides discussed the situation in the region and bilateral relations.

Present at the meeting was the Iranian ambassador in Damascus.

Earlier in the day, Syrian Electricity Minister Munib Saem al-Daher and his Iranian counterpart held a round of talks at the Ministry of Education, during which they discussed matters of mutual concern and of common cooperation.

The two sides discussed areas of cooperation between the two ministries and means of benefiting from the Iranian experience in the electrical industry and Syria's need for electrical equipment.

The two ministers reviewed means of strengthening multifaceted cooperation relations in the field of electricity.
