Jordan-Tunisia, Politics, 6/16/1999
Tunisian Prime Minister Hamed Karoui has asserted the urgent need to give the Middle East peace process a push forward to enable Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinian people to restore their occupied territories in accordance with the international legitimacy principles, UN Security Council resolutions and the land-for-peace formula.
During the plenary session he held on Tuesday in Amman with his Jordanian counterpart, Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh, in the course of meetings of the Jordanian-Tunisian joint higher committee, the Tunisian prime minister added that the Middle East peace process should be given a push forward and the Palestinian people should be given their legitimate rights and establish their own independent state.
The two prime ministers stressed during the round of talks they held the desire of their governments to revitalize areas of joint cooperation and coordination and to strengthen bilateral relations.
Al-Rawabdeh stressed Jordan's concentration on the need to unify Arab ranks amid the major changes and developments taking place on the international level as well as on maintaining economic blocs so that they will be able to preserve their rights.
