Iran FM to arrive in Jordan on Saturday

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi has expressed his hope that his visit to Jordan, due to start on Saturday, will constitute a turning point in the history of Iranian-Jordanian relations.

In a statement to the Jordanian daily al-Dostour issued on Tuesday, the Iranian FM added that he will convey a message from Iranian President Muhammad Khatami to King Abdullah of Jordan.

Kharazi continued that Iran's relations with the Arab states are good and called for developing such relations on all arenas.

He also indicated that Iran had warned Turkey against its relations with Israel. He asserted that Israel seeks to exploit negatively the capabilities of the states of the region in the service of its hegemonic policy.
