Libyan envoy in Damascus

Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa received a message on Monday from the secretary of the people's general committee for foreign contacts and international cooperation in Libya (Foreign Ministry), Omar al-Muntasir.

The Libyan secretary expressed in his message Libya's great appreciation for the efforts exerted by Syria in all regional and international circles, especially in its capacity as a member of the seven-member committee that was in charge of following up on the Lockerbie issue and finding a just solution to it.

Al-Muntasir stressed Libya's desire to develop and strengthen cooperation relations with Syria to serve the interests of the two states.
