Baker visits Lebanon
Lebanon-USA, Politics, 6/15/1999

Former US Secretary of State James Baker will hold a two-day official visit to Lebanon starting on June 21. Baker is accompanied in his visit by a former US undersecretary of state for Near East affairs and former US ambassador to Syria, Edward Djerjian.

The US delegation will hold talks with high-ranking Lebanese officials dealing with bilateral relations and the Middle East peace process in the light of Israeli election results, which brought back the Labor Party, led by Ehud Barak, to power.
