Yemeni prime minister in Cairo for Red Sea security talks

Yemeni Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Iryani is due to arrive in Cairo on Wednesday for a two-day visit, during which he is to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzouri and Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid on Thursday.
Yemeni sources in Cairo told ArabicNews.com that the Yemeni official will discuss with President Mubarak and Egyptian officials the answer received by Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on his call to convene a comprehensive Arab summit and the position of leaders, kings and presidents toward the date, place and the setting for this summit.
The sources said that the Yemeni official will deliver a communique from President Saleh to President Mubarak tackling the developments of the Yemeni situations with the neighboring countries.
Al-Iryani and his Egyptian counterpart are to chair the Egyptian - Yemeni joint committee that will discuss bilateral cooperation, establishing a free trade zone between the two countries and increasing trade exchange between Cairo and Sanaa.
Talat Hamed, the official spokesman of the Arab League, said that Abdul Meguid will hold talks with al-Iryani on Thursday regarding means of reviving Arab solidarity and achieving the minimum limit of coordination among the Arab countries concerned with the Middle East peace process.
Al-Iryani said he will visit Cairo to head the meetings of the Yemeni - Egyptian joint high committee and to hold talks with Abdul Meguid that will also discuss Arab relations in general, the situation in Somalia in light of the efforts exerted by Yemen and the Arab League to push forward efforts for national reconciliation in Somalia and to stop fight among Somali factions as well as means of enhancing security and stability in Red Sea area.
