Iraqi president: The US will soon have to withdraw
Iraq, Politics, 6/14/1999
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said that Iraq will continue its training program for Iraqis to carry weapons and to prepare them as reserves to join Iraqi military units if necessary.
In a speech Hussein delivered before high-ranking Iraqi soldiers, he said, "Training the people like this is a matter of providing reserves."
Hussein said, "The U.S.A. will become weak due to its interference," adding, "They forget that the longer an arm reaches the weaker it becomes day after day in any point it reaches."
He emphasized that, "Iraq is getting closer to the day in which enemy will declare it has nothing to do but withdraw."
