Al-Assad condoles Lahoud on victims of justice palace massacre

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Wednesday night spoke on the telephone with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud and expressed condolences to him on the victims of the brutal aggression against the justice palace in Sidon. President al-Assad stressed Syria's solidarity with Lebanon in strengthening is security and stability.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese president has asserted that despite its brutality, the Sidon massacre will not undermine the determination of Lebanese justice, which will continue its complete measures firmly to protect society from corruption.
During his meeting with Lebanese parliamentarians the Lebanese President said, "What is intended is to disturb the state's march and to strike Lebanon through attacking the justice institution, which we are proud of."
On Thursday, the Lebanese president received the al-Wafaa bloc of the Lebanese resistance. Talks during the meeting dealt with current conditions in south Lebanon following the escalated Israeli aggressions and the crime against the justice palace in Sidon.
Stress was laid that the crime of Sidon was just an Israeli message aiming at destabilizing internal political and security stability in Lebanon. Stress was also laid on the need to arrest the criminal who committed this massacre.
