Egyptian, Sudanese FMs discuss Sudanese reconciliation efforts

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa met on Wednesday night in Cairo with his Sudanese counterpart, Mustafa Othman Ismael, upon arriving in Cairo from Paris.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and the results of the Egyptian contacts with leaders of the Sudanese opposition with the objective of achieving reconciliation.
The Sudanese FM briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the results of his talks in France and handed him an official invitation to visit Sudan to attend its celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the rule of Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.
For his part, the Sudanese ambassador in Egypt, Ahmad Abdul Halim, spoke positively over the development of relations between the two states. He added in statements to reporters on Wednesday in Cairo, "There is mutual desire to develop relations in all areas."
He added, "Stability in the two countries is a very important matter," saying that "Egypt and Sudan have exceeded the phase of coolness between the two sides."
