Israel escalates aggression against south Lebanon; two Israelis soldiers killed

Two Israeli soldiers were killed and another four were wounded of them two were seriously injured in an attack launched against an Israeli foot patrol near al-Rayhan according to Lebanese security sources.

The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday expanded their attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the occupation positions in al-Zaffatah and al-Ayesheh bombarded the hills and heights of al-Tuffah district, especially the towns of Jba'a, Ein Buswar, Jarjo, Arab Salim, Lweizeh, Mleita, al-Jabal al-Rafe, the Sujoud - al- Rayan Aqmata farm, Litani river course, al-Tasse spring, al-Salwqi valley and al-Hajir valley.

The bombardment was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire from the Sujoud and al-Sweida positions which targeted al-Zahrani river course, the woods surrounding the two positions and mountainous routes linking al-Tuffah district to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Israeli positions stationed in the occupied western sector of the south bombarded the towns of Majdal Zoun, Zibqin, Kafra, Yater, Eita al-Jabal, Jib Sweid and al-Rahrah areas.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out mock and provocative raids over the western and central sectors at low altitude and were intercepted by Lebanese army and resistance anti-aircraft fire.

In retaliation, the Lebanese resistance continued to attack the occupation positions and patrols in the occupied part of south Lebanon. In a statement, the resistance said that one of its groupss on Wednesday attacked Israel troops and their South Lebanon Army militia allies in Tallat Sujoud, using machine guns and mortars. The eastern fortifications of the position were destroyed and direct hits were achieved among its occupants.

Simultaneously another resistance group struck an Israeli anmored vehicle on Sujoud - al-Rayhan road and direct hits were scored.
