Upgrading trade relations between Algeria, Portugal

A meeting will be held for economists from Algeria and Portugal in September to prepare for the meetings of the second round of the joint committee between the countries, which are to be held in November.
Portuguese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Louis Amado, who is currently visiting Algeria, said the joint committee will set forth a new framework for Algerian - Portuguese cooperation in order to bolster trade relations.
He also said that Algeria and Portugal have decided to draft a plan aimed at bolstering the bilateral relations and strengthening them, saying that an agreement on shared guarantees for investments will be endorsed before the meetings of the Algerian - Portuguese joint committee.
They will also sign an agreement to ban double taxation on investments between the two countries.
