Algerian Islamic Salvation Army throws down its weapons

The Algerian Islamic Salvation Army, the military wing of the prohibited Islamic Salvation Front, said it is absolutely stopping violence and armed actions against the government.
In its statement, it said that it threw down its weapons and placed itself at the state's disposal, adding that it has decided to stop armed actions absolutely and that it offers its defense forces for defending the people as well for serving Algeria.
The statement is signed by Madani Mezrak, leader of the movement.
Meanwhile, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika authorized his government to prepare a law that would pardon the Islamic Salvation Army's members.
