Successful discussions for Mubarak and Abdullah

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz headed a concluding discussion session attended by members of the Saudi and Egyptian delegation.

Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat El-Sherif said the Saudi crown prince's visit to Cairo provided a chance for consultations regarding the Arab situation, the future of the Middle East peace process, and ideas raised for a joint Arab perception of the Palestinian track as well as a joint Arab perception for the final solution of the Palestinian cause.

The two sides discussed the final details for a bilateral free trade agreement that will be signed during the next meeting of the Egyptian - Saudi Higher Committee. It is expected that the economic agreements signed will increase the volume of Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia, which are estimated at LE467.815 million in 1998.

Mubarak accompanied his guest in a one-hour tour in Cairo subway. Prince Abdullah was impressed the magnitude of the giant project, which he described as a great transportation facility, an official statement said.

Mubarak held an expanded discussion session on Friday evening with Crown Prince Abdullah that was attended by the Egyptian prime minister, foreign minister, minister of endowments, and members of Saudi delegation, after which a bilateral discussion session that comprised the two Arab chiefs.
