El-Merghany visits Saudi Arabia

Mohammed Othman El-Merghani, head of the Sudanese opposition Democratic Unionist Party, headed to Jeddah on Saturday to meet with Saudi officials and to inform them on the results of his external tours.
An official from the DUP said El-Merghani's visit to Saudi Arabia would last for three days, after which he was to head to Asmara to participate in the preparations for convening the full meeting of the opposition leadership and executive officials in the Democratic National Alliance to be held today.
The official stated that the chief of the Sudan People's Liberation Army, John Garang, will attend the meeting of the DNA's leadership and a following meeting.
