Last warning to evacuate the Israeli office in Doha
Qatar-Israel, Judicial, 6/7/1999
Qatar's Court of Cassation on Sunday warned the Israeli trade representation office in Doha to evacuate the building it has occupied following a case filed by the owner of the building. The court ruled for the evacuation of the building and the intervention of security forces if necessary to carry out the court sentence.
This new sentence is a reassertion of a previous sentence released on May 8. The owner of the building said he had in 1995 rented the villas in the al-Rumeilah area in downtown Doha to a Qatari businessman, but the latter rented one of these villas to the Israeli trade representation office.
Qatar and Oman allowed the opening of Israeli offices after Israel reached the Oslo agreements with the Palestinian Liberation Organization in 1994.
