President al-Assad receives credentials of 11 ambassadors accredited in Damascus

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Sunday at al-Chaab palace received the new ambassadors of eleven states who handed him their credentials as ambassadors for their countries to Syria. The newly-accredited ambassadors in Damascus represent Sweden, Tunisia, Japan, Libya, Turkey, Norway, Spain, Brazil the US, India and Iran.
The ceremony held for this purpose was attended by Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa and Minister for Presidential Affairs Wahib Fadel.
The new ambassadors expressed happiness over the occasion and best wishes to al-Assad and the people of Syria.
President al-Assad, for his part exchanged with the ambassadors cordial talks and expressed to them his best wishes for a successful tour of office in Syria.
