King Abdullah meets with Jewish delegation
Jordan-France, Politics, 6/4/1999

Jordan's King Abdullah Bin Hussein has expressed during his meeting in Paris on Wednesday with a delegation representing the representative council of the Jewish groups in France, led by Henry Hagenburg "complete confidence" in the Israeli Prime Minister -Elect Ehud Barak.

The King expressed hope that the Israelis will revive the Middle East peace process in the next three coming months in response to the expectations of the "Arab governments and public Arab opinion." The King added that the "question of Jerusalem should be settled directly between the Israelis and the Palestinians," noting that the solution is not far from reaching.

Hagenburg called on Jordanian King and other Arab leaders to reply to the message of peace expressed clearly by the Israelis in the general elections of May 17.

Previously, the same delegation had met with King Abdullah during its tour of the Middle East at the beginning of last March.
