Morocco's mining, energy and industrial production regress in 1st quarter of 1999

Morocco's mining production regressed by 1 % during the 1st quarter of 1999, Moroccan statistics department reported in its latest newsletter. The energy production plummeted by 4 % during the same period while the output of processing industry went down by 3 %.
The economic operators involved in the three sectors remain however upbeat regarding the performance of the mining, energy and industrial sectors in the 2nd quarter of 1999. They forecast an 11 % increase in mining production, 14 % in energy output and 5 % in the industrial processing sector.
