Nine gunmen killed in Algeria

Algerian security forces have killed some nine members of the Armed Islamic Group during vast mopping-up operations in the provinces of Ain Defla, Chlef and Tebessa. Meanwhile, the Algerian daily al-Khabar revealed that two persons were killed and another wounded in a bomb explosion when a truck carrying them passed by in Sidi Bel Abbes province.
