Gaddafi meets Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah, calls for Arab solidarity

Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi has called for maintaining Arab cooperation. He added, "The world of today is inclined towards blocs, where there is no place for small entities."
In a speech he gave on Tuesday night at a dinner banquet in honor of Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, and members of the accompanying delegation, Col. Gaddafi praised Saudi Arabian stances concerning the question of Lockerbie. He added, "Saudi Arabia has dealt with the question of Lockerbie since its very beginning and refused Libya to pay the price of repression imposed."
He stated that the cooperation maintained between Libya, Saudi Arabia and South Africa in relation to the Lockerbie issue has set new foundation in the area of settling international problems and proving that most difficult crises can be sorted out by means of dialogue and cooperation.
Gaddafi invested the Saudi crown prince with the al-Fateh order of merit in appreciation for the role played by Saudi Arabia in settling the Lockerbie issue. He presented Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal the "duty " award for the role played by the Saudi Foreign Ministry concerning Lockerbie, while Prince Bander Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz was awarded the "good offices" award for his backing of the Libyan people in settling the Lockerbie incident.
For his part Crown Prince Abdullah said the Arab nation would not eliminate obstacles and difficulties unless inter-Arab cooperation is maintained.
He added, "Arab solidarity is the sole way to counter challenges and risks endangering the Arab nation."
He warned everyone who denies Arab rights in Palestine, the Golan, south Lebanon and holy Jerusalem. He continued, "The Arabs are determined to achieve unity and nobody can deny them this rights."
He called upon the Arab League to hurry in establishing the united Arab free trade area.
The Saudi crown prince invested Col. Gaddafi with the "Greater Bader " medal (Bader is the name of the battle when Prophet Muhammad fought against the non-believers).
