A group of 250 Libyan soldiers is heading today to Uganda, where the Ugandan army fights rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces that possess military bases in the Republic of the Congo.

Libyan sources said, "A Libyan battalion of 40 soldiers arrived in Uganda last week, which is the beginning of an African peacekeeping force's arrival that is supposed to be deployed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo headed to the south of the country near borders with Zaire officially."

Sources added, "They will also visit areas in the north in which the Ugandan army fights another rebellion."

Sources stated that, "The military equipment's brought by the Libyan soldiers who will serve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo were plated in white and transported to the general headquarters of the Ugandan army in Bombo, 40 kilometers from Kampala, to wait for a comprehensive cease fire."
