Bahrain to promote the role of women in public life

The new government of Bahrain has expressed its desire to strengthen the role played by women in Bahrain's public life.

AFP reported that Bahraini dailies quoted Prime Minister Sheikh Khaleifa Bin Salman al-Khaleifa as saying that one of the priorities of his government which took its constitutional oath on Monday is "strengthening the role of the woman and her participation in the public life and in the national work in the coming phase."

The dailies added that the role of women is no longer limited to participation in the backing of the development march, noting that women play a key role in formulating the future of society. He stated that this matter requires reinforcing the role of women and their actual participation in public life and work.
