Egyptian - Moroccan high committee coming next Tuesday in Rabat

The Egyptian - Moroccan high joint committee will convening its third session under the chairmanship of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Morocco's King Hassan II in Rabat on June 8 for three days.

A preparatory meeting will comprise representatives from the two state's foreign ministries, as well as the ministries of economy, planning, and international cooperation to prepare the work paper that will be discussed by the higher committee.

Yemani Felfelah, head of the Egyptian - Moroccan business council and a member of the preparatory committee said that the commercial exchange achieved a increase of 70% since the beginning of the high committee's work in 1996, as the trade volume between the two countries increased from 20 million in 1996 to 33 million in 1998.

Felfelah stated that, "The Egyptian and Moroccan businessmen are certain that the coming period will witness a great increase in the commercial exchange volume and in the joint projects," especially after activating the free trade zone agreement which includes exempting nearly 60 Egyptian and Moroccan goods from customs fees immediately while the rest come gradually.
