King Abdullah of Jordan arrives in Algeria

King Abdullah Bin Hussein has asserted his position in backing the "sincere efforts" exerted by Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to eliminate all obstacles and difficulties as well as to achieve the ambitions of the people of Algeria to maintain security, stability, freedom and progress.
In statements to reporters at al-Huwai Bumedian International Airport, the Jordanian king added that his visit to Algeria falls in the context of consultation and coordination on the "remarkable relations between Jordan and Algeria."
The Jordanian king arrived in Algiers on Monday for a two-day official visit during which he is holding talks with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on means of developing and strengthening existing relations between the two countries and issues of mutual concern.
At the airport, the Jordanian king was welcomed by the Algerian president and high-ranking officials.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah has expressed his hope to eliminate the obstacles impeding the Middle East peace process during the past years and that the new Israeli government will take steps towards achieving a genuine peacethat provides for resetting the Middle East peace process into its right track to achieve set objectives.
In a statement to the Algerian daily al-Khabar, the Jordanian king added that the US and Europe can greatly contribute to peacemaking and strengthening opportunities for stability in the region through taking part in the development process in the region.
The Jordanian king indicated the importance of Arab solidarity amid current conditions. He added, "I felt during my tour of several Arab states and meetings with my brothers of Arab leaders, the great care expressed by their sides to revive Arab solidarity and to unify the ranks of the Arab nation because the current phase requires us to stand in one line and to revive Arab commissions and organizations so as to be able to strengthen joint Arab works and achieve economic integration and comprehensive development which is conducive to the prosperity of the Arab people."
From Algeria, King Abdullah will travel to Tunisia.
