Bahrain's new government takes constitutional oath

The new Bahraini government took its oath before the ruler of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa, on Monday in Manama.

Earlier in the day, the ruler of Bahrain issued a decree providing for forming a new Bahraini government chaired by Sheikh Khaleifa Bin Salman Bin Hamad al-Khaleifa.

The Gulf News Agency said the decree provided for appointing Sheikh Muhammad Bin Mubarak al-Khaleifa as foreign minister, Sheikh Khaleifa Bin Ahmad al-Khaleifa as defense minister, Muhammad Ibrahim al-Mutawi as minister of Cabinet affairs and information, and Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khaled al-Khaleifa as minister of justice and Islamic affairs.

The new Cabinet also includes Sheikh Muhammad bin Khaleifa al-Khaleifa and as minister of the interior, Sheikh Ali Bin Khaleifa al-Khaleifa as communications minister, Jawad Salem al-Areid as minister of state, Sheikh Khaled Bin Abdullah al-Khaleifa as a minister of housing, municipalities and the environment, and Majed Jawad al-Jashe as minister of state.

Sheikh Issa Bin Ali al-Khaleifa was appointed as minister of oil and industry, Ali Saleh Abdullah al-Saleh as minister of trade, Abdul Aziz Muhammad al-Fadel as minister of education, Dr. Faisal Rida al-Mawsawi as health minister, Abdul Nabi Abdullah al-Shaala as minister of labor and social affairs, Sheikh Daeij Bin Khaleifa Bin Muhammad al-Khaleifa as electricity minister, Abdullah Hassan Youssef as minister of finance and national economy, and Ibrahim al-Mahrous as minister of works and agriculture.
